At Rose Hill Montessori, every day is a new opportunity for wonder, inspiration, and joy. By instilling the early academic and life skills gained from a Montessori education and incorporating the progressive early childhood disciplines of Reggio Emilia and an emergent curriculum, we guide each child on their unique path to a life-long love of learning. The Montessori approach to education was developed over 100 years ago by Italian physician Maria Montessori and is still considered one of the best educational systems for preschool-aged children. Her unique approach to nurturing and educating has been adapted worldwide. It begins with the “Prepared Environment” which supports all different types of learners and builds intrinsic motivation as children explore at their own pace and make meaningful connections and discoveries. The methodology values project-based learning and embraces the importance of teaching young learners practical-life skills. Like any quality early childhood practice, Montessori is child-centered at its core and values exposure to new materials, sensory-based experiences, and early academic concepts. This all takes place in a warm and nurturing environment with skilled and loving teachers to guide learning and development. We have combined the practices of Montessori with a rich Reggio Emilia, Arts-based, and Emergent Curriculum.
