Infant Program (3 mos - 1 yr 3 mos)
Panda Bilingual Daycare believes trust is a basic need that must be nurtured in the young child. Our teachers focus on making a trusting relationship with each child. Our classroom is comforting, warm, and nurturing in order to support the safe discovery of the world as s/he explores the environment. At this stage sensory experience is vital as the babies explore through each of their senses. The Infant teachers care for 7 children ranging in age from 3 to 15 months old. The educator/child ratio is 1:3 or 2:7.
Toddler Programs (1 yr 3 mos - 2 yrs 9 mos)
Panda Bilingual Daycare's toddler classroom is for children from about 15 months through 33 months. Our Toddler classes contain 12 children and the educator/child ration is 1:4. Toddlers are rapidly developing language and social skills and are constantly curious about their environment. Our toddle program emphasizes building self-confidence and fosters this natural curiosity and channels the high activity level with activities and ample space to dance and run and ride both indoors and outside. At this age children begin participating in “group" or "circle time”. The children gather and may sing, dance, listen to stories, learn poems and songs, etc.
Preschool Program (2 yrs 9 mos - 4 yrs 11 mos)
Our preschool classroom serves children between about 2yrs. 9 months and kindergarten entry. The group size varies between 10 and 14 children with an educator/child ratio of between 1:5 and 1:7. Dr. Montessori saw this age as a particularly sensitive one for absorbing information. The preschool curriculum is designed to engage each child in activities and with materials that explore age appropriate content in the areas of literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, the arts and technology. Our preschool teachers use materials and toys that embody the Montessori values of independence and learning through experimenting, and develop their ability to focus and concentrate with the teacher offering guidance and encouragement.
